Top O—Level student comes from CHIJ St Nicholas

SINGAPORE: The GCE O—Level
results are out. Of the 36,640 students who sat for their examinations last
year, 80.8 per cent secured at least five O—Level passes.
99.9 per cent, or 36,596 students, secured at least one O—Level pass.
The top student this year is Haw Sue Hern from CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’
School. She scored 10 A1s.
Nadiah Nadhirah Bte Abdul from Riverside Secondary School is the top
Malay student, with seven A1s and two A2s.
Jharyathri Thiagarajah from Cedar Girls’ Secondary School is top Indian
student, with nine A1s.
Last year, 4,254 or 32.4 per cent of the 2008
Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) cohort sat for at least one O—Level paper.
Over 90 per cent of this group obtained at least one O—Level
pass.
3,087 private candidates sat for the exams, with 88.7 per cent or 2,739
students getting their certificates.
WHOOOAH! yeaaaaah:D it's here, it's us, it's ST NICKS!(: we did it, we did it! or more like, the 2008 sec4 batch did it![: WHOOOSH! ;D i don't know why i'm so excited and fascinated but i'm like super proud to wear st nicks uniform now muahahha >: D it's like, our results were not very good for the past few years, then now it's like WHOOOOSH uhhh up you go. so feeling proud is natural.though it's not really US who did it, but the sec4s, but nevermind LOL.
but i wonder how we're going to live up to expectations set this year by last year's batch results. pffft. ohwell, worry about the future later. though that's not that advisable....
today had home econs! cooked yam cake. oh yuck. that is the worst thing i have ever tasted. i do not know why ours was so horrid. miss gwee rushed us like mad while miss mala's class was like half an hour late for pw so our form teacher was like maddd ): anw, i think miss mala's class yamcakes tasted nicer. ours sucks. ehh ): sad. my first try at cooking and so lousy like crap alrdy. even i dont want to eat it lah ]: the yam is like superhard, helloo?]: my mom said we're supposed to grate it or something. awwwh D:
tomorrow got thirdlang!): i'm thinking of quitting, 'cause i seriously cant cope! my piano exam grade6 practical is coming up and i dont think i can pass if this goes on. me not practicing everyday. sigh. but it seems such a waste): ohwell, i think ihave to go and study my atomic structure now ): byee
